How was it? Not like I get music, but how did the idea work?
ReplyDeleteAD, it was wunnderful. I just wish I had my friends around, but otherwise, what fun!
ReplyDeleteI was at the counter where the daan-peti was kept, and came across such characters. There was a fellow who whipped out a bunch of crackling 50 rupee notes, like he'd stolen them from the bank, and grinned like a smelly cat while he stuffed the very fat wad into the peti.
Some people happily waltzed in without giving anything, but overall I think the tendency fell towards generosity. Perhaps it was the novelty, or the spirit, or the electric line-up. The performances were wonderful; a lot of known and unknown artists turned up and did their thing. I suspect the music sounded so much better because a lot of us just felt extremely lucky to be hearing such great artists for laissez-faire prices.
A lot of people came asking for the peti post the concert, and the fact that a lot of money was left over says much about the enthu of people organising and coming for the event.
There was some free stuff given away too - a CD with a couple of songs by the well-known bands who performed, and a schedule outlining their next performances. Prettty good. :)
